For many emerging leaders in Mississippi, the Freedom Summer program marks the start of their fellowship. They engage with the LEAD principles, begin singing freedom songs, and often embark on their initial visits to civil rights landmarks or southern college campuses.
This experience can be transformative, sparking a Fellow's commitment to justice, education, and community empowerment.
